BRING YOUR OWN BAG Starting March 1, 2020, retailers in New York State will be prohibited from distributing plastic carryout bags to customers. Please remember to BRING YOUR OWN BAG! To help encourage reusable bag use, the City of Yonkers has made available a limited supply of free reusable bags to residents. The transition to traysthat are biodegradable and compostablehas eliminated the use of two millionpolystyrene (Styrofoam) food trays, whichare produced using fossil fuels andcarcinogenic compounds.
